About Jesus

There are many books, tapes, films, etc. about The Lord and Savior, Jesus. I don't intentionally read very much except the paper and magazines on occasion but as I learn more and already know by experiencing I will list here different items I am led to witness by as entertaining, instructive, or helpful to me. Maybe not to me personally but may be able to help others.

Jesus (2000)
173 Minutes, Religious Historical Drama
Miniseries Originally Broadcast On CBS

Jeremy Sisto as Jesus

Jacqueline Bissett .... as Mary
Armin Mueller-Stahl ... as Joseph
Gary Oldman ........... as Pilate
Cast of Many Others

Not a Bible scholar where others report flaws I find Jesus life and ministry well
and dramatically told. Honorably produced, seemingly fair, unbiased, and enlightening.
Jeremy Sisto as Jesus sometimes is just a bit too human and real to
not seem to know personally the sins he as Jesus forgives or will forgive even die
for in His future as Christ. Maybe this reality of Christ and His experiences as a
man is the new ground of this miniseries and it does so by provoking thought not
actually having Jesus commit any unnatural act.
At nearly three hours, 173 minutes, Jesus packs alot but primarily and most movingly
is about the trial, rejection in favor of Barabbas, and crucifixion which for me was
dramatic and with message.
Depending on point of view to be appreciated or disheartened.
It is my hope Jesus, the real Savior, would like this miniseries meant be Him if not
really true for its' sincere and truthfully honoring effort.

Though I have only seen one tape, 'He Is Risen', of this twelve tape series I was not disappointed in getting to. On it alone, which was exceedingly good and joy-filling, I would recommend to The Saved and The Want To Be Saved these tapes about God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and the special people of The Bible who knew God and some who didn't.
Produced and directed by Richard J. Rich, former director for Walt Disney Productions, but not a duplicate of Disney style. You'll enjoy and delight in learning about The Truly Wonderful Savior Jesus is and God has given us.

To me John 14:9-11 NKJV sums up the tape I saw and on which I recommend the others.

According to the tape itself they are available from:

Davey And Goliath: New Year Promise, Individual Tapes

Christmas Lost And Found
The New Skates And Other Stories
The Waterfall And Other Stories

Davey, his sister, Sally, and their dog, Goliath

I recommend these tapes as about Jesus though I haven't seen these characters since I was a kid on television Sundays. I couldn't get enough of them as they lived what God wanted of them. Gumby, Pokey, Davey and Goliath, Sally, their friends, and adults made learning to try to do the right thing for God a good and fun thing. Even if it hurt because you had to admit a lie or that you had broken something.
I think now as I watched God was hiding in these characters and stories thinking I am preparing you now to know me later when you are older but I do it now when you are a child so you'll know what kind of love I have for you and that like you are now as a child when you are an adult you can trust me, love me, like the child you still will be.
I have remembered many of these stories all these years. I heartily recommend anything you can find of these characters.

I am most thankful to God that He loved Art Clokey enough to by him create these characters and tell teaching stories by them.
