Television
Jeremiah 17:1-18 NKJV
As probably the second most agreed upon place where Christians meet, in front of the Television, should not the Lord and Our Saviour, be exalted in what we watch? If we do in well choosing what we watch we allow and ask The Lord to fellowship with us and help us not just on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other days in church, but also each day of each week we live. We allow God in our choosing and Him then producing for us to choose to live with us and not be put away to be brought out only on Sundays or those days when we go to Him.
Keeping Up Appearances
Mystery: Hetty Wainthropp Investigates
03-01-2010
We must remember that some things not just TV seek to mimic God to the deception of His that He has accepted the mimicker and the agenda, the ideas, of the mimicker. What I try to say is some things may be accepted now even in God but many of them might be better done in an older way. If Television reflects society even Christian society and affects it it is my hope that by these Television recommendations I can keep something on for me and others to watch which uplifts and helps us serve The Lord.
Pardon anyone if I am mashing your toes but the major networks not even a tenth of their total programming would I describe as not detrimental to individuals and society. Perhaps I cannot have my own way completely in what is on, I can't speak about cable I don't have it, but each night it would be nice to have a 50% or more portion of programming that is uplifting.
That does not I think mean no new ideas or stars but good TV is simply good TV. By its' very existence it adds to, shapes, spreads, and to those who watch it, talk about it, good. To get society to reflect Television we could turn back the clock a little in morality. That doesn't mean outlaw accepted things formerly unpardonable sin but being more Christ like and not running wild in Grace perhaps Television could help us do that. And with God willing and producing visually and verbally how He would prefer we, Christians and non-christians, handle ourselves and those things He has actually accepted truly how can we go wrong. Then TV is a tool and instrument of God's good and not a detriment to Christian or non-christian living, all of society.
Remember too that television virtually everywhere in the country, the good ole USA, is a source of fellowship with God via television ministries of church worship services. Whether broadcasting partial or full services much work goes into these ministries to serve God and maybe by His direction. That direction could be specifically for you, for me, for anyone, even a lost person. All we have to do is hear God and be in front of the tv with it on, on the right channel for the service God means for you, the sound up to a comfortable hearing level, and a heart willing to at least hear God if not believe and obey immediately. Try it you might find that you like God.

Good and Magic as a young man is given ability to communicate with all animal kind to protect them from all harm. Normally he and his sidekick, Tao, do and very well except when others after his ability manage to turn the animals against him or he is deceived into helping man or woman in trouble while the animals are then vulnerable. A good series also about God and with I believe good people.

NBC
Tuesdays @ 9pm
Half-hour hilariously funny comedy.
I have found a new show that I can recommend and surprisingly it's on the network, NBC.
I hope that you will take in Scrubs it is funny and as irreverent as I am going to allowed be get as a Christian man but who likes comedy and can understand some things to extreme are sin but can be funny when not meant to be.
Help me to keep Scrubs on the air not that I know it is in any danger but just help me to. I like watching it.
By these images which I've lifted to illustrate it you can maybe see as I assume the show is funny and the casts likes doing it and each other.
On the show-
Caring for each other-
Psalm 34:15-22
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry.
The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
When the righteous cry for help,
the Lord hears and rescues them from all,
their troubles.
The Lord is near to the
brokenhearted,
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord rescues them from them all.
He keeps all their bones;
not one of them will be broken.
Evil brings death to the wicked,
and those who hate the
righteous will be condemned.
The Lord redeems the life of his
servants;
none of those who take refuge
in him will be condemned.
"Yet let no man think even self the he can
cut off the righteous discipline of The Lord."
I am sure God said this first somewhere.
Probably in the Bible He loves holding us to so much.

This series reminds me of a modern day 'Lost In Space'. At least the spirit of it does. You may remember Kevin Sorbo from his hugely popular 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys'. Andromeda follows in the spirit of the early seasons of that series in scripting and storylines featuring unique yet interesting aliens and heroes. Words and actions like "honesty", "Courage', etc abound. The only thing not actually spoken but I suspect in spirit is said is "For God."
TV Shows I Miss
I have to say that this was a very hard series for me to watch when it was on in its' original
run. Why? I didn't know it was about me and my friends or those around me therefore when it
bothered me as sappy, as in you are too, I turned it off and ignored it. Actually it bothered
me so much with most likely prayer directed toward me 'til the point I had to answer what I
ignored that was God's. Today some 13 years later I often wake up in the early AM thinking is
Full House on? Where I am it comes on at 6AM Mon - Fri two episodes back to back. I have learned
that God was talking to me about my friends and how they liked me or didn't like me.
Wanted me to be one of them or didn't want me to be one of them.
Even people as far away from me as cross country whom I have never met in person are part
of Full House. They may know God has put their images, them, in this show to also teach them
about Him or maybe they do not. Even others we do not know God may be speaking to by way of
'Full House'.
Needless to say I can't get enough of looking back at people I knew then or have met since that
God knew then when I couldn't handle "Full House'.
I sure hope that the networks will do me a favor or let God do me one and actually bring back
some of these actual series and their type that I can do what I should have for God in the first place.
Like them and be me.
Like Full House does now instruct me I know from also these that God was talking maybe about me,
to me, for parents, for family, for others, maybe for me,
and maybe about others for their help also.
I definitely know He was talking to me For Himself.
I definitely miss:
Boy Meets World
I came in late in the run of this series maybe the year before it ended
and liked it very much. I am sure now God was beginning to get through to me about
'Full House' and others but I still hadn't gotten it yet. You think maybe this
title is a play on words by God? I kind of do.
I have also come to know of:
Tarzan, The Wolf Larson Version
I had wanted to watch this series in it's original run but it was not on a network and no
local station in my area chose to carry it. These 13 years later for a short while a local
Christian station carried it and I got chance to watch much of it.
I think this timing was good as seeing it now let me enjoy it more for God's purpose rather
than my own which it would have been 13 years before.

Wind At My Back 1996-2001
Sullivan Entertainment (Canada)
Available on DVD in The States
A recently widowed mother loses her children to a cold mother-in-law who did not like
her in Ontario during the Great Depression. What follows is a series that is heartwarming and inspiring in growing up and experiencing the trials of life not all of them good however Wind At My Back suggests if you have a trust to see it and feel that God is there to help you through. A fact long since it seems forgotten but still claimed in this modern age we live in.
A lot of people could stand to be enlightened by Wind At My Back maybe who do not feel they need and are it. Self too.
It is a wonderful series though not the cup of tea of all.
GPTV Saturdays @ 9PM, Slightly later when longer program precedes.
Patricia Routledge
A comedy series, one of its' Britcoms as PBS calls them, in which Miss Routledge stars as Hyacinth Bucket. "Bouquet" to her, "Bucket" to everyone else. Hyacinth and all her sisters have flower names, Rose, Daisy, Violet, etc. except they are all poor black sheep relatives which the social climbing Hyacinth wants no one to know, except Violet who has married well and above Hyacinth.
Extremely funny in how important the appearance of breeding and class are to Hyacinth and the lengths she goes to for that 'Appearance'.
My oldest sister introduced me to this series. Unbeknownst to her is that she did. I watch it since but she does not know that.
Patricia Routledge, Dominic Monaghan
A late 50's english lady and her young charge fancy themselves private investigators running her out of home agency. It does not hurt that they've forged a serous not amateurish relationship with the local authorities who treat them as secret employees, which they are called in on tough mistaken identity crimes and flim-flams.
Not much to offend here. Try it you might like and it could lead to more Television like this even on the major networks. Another of the PBS English imports

Gena Lee Nolin, John Allen Nelson
Margo Moorer, Kevin Quigley
Adventure series set in the jungle of the female equivalent of Tarzan who protects the jungle from encroaching trappers and destroyers of the jungle environment. While doing so life problems are examined and many times solved with the aid of Sheena's ability to transform herself into animals of the jungle and her friends. Stars former Baywatch Lifeguard Gena Lee Nolin and John Allen Nelson as her somewhat friend former adversary who runs a jungle touring business. Actually they are more friend than adversary but not in love with one another.
Nice escapist tv yet sometimes serious featuring good people I believe in the roles they play. I mean God good.
