The East Fox Searchlight Pictures 2013, Drama, PG-13, 1 Hour 56 Minutes Alexander Skarsgard, Ellen Page, Patricia Clarkson, Brit Marling Director: Zal Batmanglij The East is a compelling and gripping comment on us, consumers, and the companies and managers we choose and purchase from. Whether the market drives companies or companies drive the market and in that and decision making power often touching on life and death who is right or wrong in what is deemed important or essential enough to make what is for sale and at what costs and to whom or what to protect. Company or market, us? Have you ever wondered how much is hidden from you when corporations and/or multi-national and international conglomerates suffer bad news concerning their products, safety of them, honesty in manufacture and repair and what they did or did know and how they choose to reveal or conceal these things from the purchasing public? And have you thought about the possibility that public relations to save and protect corporations in their ways can become extremely dangerous for that public, harmed and lodging complaint against corporation X-Y-Z. In The East specialists at dealing with corporation's problems and complaints from the public don't mess around and border on societal espionage in handling customer, corporations, needs. Private citizens with a view of these corporations that practice deceit and less than good toward the public educate themselves and seek revenge for the public and not just bottom line revenge but physical revenge like subjecting corporate types to the same they've subjected the public to. It is hard to relate a recommendation on The East without spoiling it by telling all but it is a compelling and topical story that is and maybe is both educational and entertaining. Check it out nad see what you think or what you know and do not know when daily you trust those who make decisions on manufacture and sale of products themselves that purchase and use of involve your very life. The east extends that knowledge to the means that are used to do that manufacture and dissemination of said products. In that you do not have to even choose to purchase you are still affected many times just as much maybe more than those who do choose to purchase. The entire cast is very good top to bottom in telling this story of right or wrong and retribution or protection to continue. | |

Is it a Prequel, a sequel, or just plain lunancy meant and doomed to go all wrong?
PROMETHEUS
2012, Science-Fiction, R, Approx. 2 Hrs 4 Min
Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron. Idris Elba, Guy Pearce
A group on a space mission as with others and their missions don't really have a clue why they mission.
Something about clues that our creator is out there and has been located.
Off they go as others to find and question I presume HIM.
What they find is that like others maybe they have been lured out there by the hunt of BIG game that shouldn't
be hunted. Spoiler alert: Read PROMETHUS the ship's name akin to NOSTROMO. The style and eeriness of Prometheus
is different and good maybe more scary but the craziness of having went back or maybe for the first time
is excusable or on second is just plain dumb under guise that GOD can be found and maybe HE has been. Worse
after encountering our creator(s) decision after much havoc and death of all but one who remains to tell all is to
pursue while warning 'Do not follow if you get this message only death is here.' Thus I question is it a sequel, a prequel,
or just plain lunacy mean to go all wrong as I have seen at least 3 Alien films surely born to bring about or brought
from Prometheus as a prequel. Interesting ideas though all seen before. The interesting worth of this film is could we
be so dense as to believe God means to be found through these monstrosities or not to be found yet pursue on
the humans do. 'We must or deserve to have answers of our creator.' I for one hope He ain't God when we get 'em
which seems the only way we'll have a chance lunacy notwithstanding.
Analogy to today: Great technology and learning but it doesn't help where logic may be needed. Mr. Spock is surely
missing as a voice of reason to just say 'No.'
